My Story

3/12/23

Hello Everyone, 2023 has been busy and is already going by so fast.

My granddaughter just turned 8. Hard to believe. She is growing up so fast. So are by grandsons.

My time, these days, is spent working, school, recovering from foot surgery in December 2022, and crating when I can. Not as much as I would like, but I do get to some things done here and there. I have posted some new projects and also created some new pages. I have so many ideas, just not enough time to do it all. I'm sure that I am not the only one.

I am also in constant organizing mode when it comes to my crafty room. I do what I can, but I'm sure that there is a lot of it I could let go of if I just had the nerve to do it. I'm so afraid that if I get rid of something that I am going to need it. I know, I know, if I haven't needed it within a certain amount of time I can probably safely get rid of it. But, that is way easier said than done. Please tell me I am not alone in this. Right now my crafty room is organized chaos.

I may have come up with a way to use some of the paper I have accumulated over the years. Again, not wanting to get rid of it because it is so pretty. But, I really want to make the pretty papers into something else that someone else can cherish and use. And also appreciate the pretty paper as much as I have. Once I get enough variety of the projects completed, I will post them on my online store for purchase. I will also make a post on here.

I know that I have said this before, but I really need to get better at posting more often and sharing my projects along with the steps I use to create them. I know I really enjoy and find inspiration from others. I would like to return the favor.

Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to read my welcome comments, blog, and view my new projects.

Take care of yourselves and Happy Crafting!

Hello Everyone, I can't believe that it is already the middle of June. Time sure does have a way of slipping by.

I am always working on something and sometimes too many somethings at one time. I have been diligently working on organizing my stamps, dies, papers. I have a lot that I haven't used in years, so I may put them up for sale on my website. I'm sure they are retired by now, they are Stampin' Up! stamp sets I bought years ago.

I have finally purchased an arm thingy that I can attach to the door of my craft box to record videos. Now I just need to finish cleaning off my desk that has the good lighting so I can do that. I don't know about you all, but sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed. I am hoping that finding a place for me work and have a small store will allow my stress levels to go down. Keep your fingers crossed that one of the locations works out for me. They are very affordable and I think the location is good as well. With no other store being in town like I want to open, it would be in a location easy for people to get to. I also want to provide various classes for sewing, beading, card making, just to name a few.

Well, it's late and I need to get some sleep.

Thank you all for visiting today. Keep an eye on my store, I am updating it write now. I will also be updating old pictures and item description.

Happy Crafting!

Wow, looks like I haven't posted any pictures in a while. So sorry for that.

I will have to search my pictures and get some uploaded asap. :)

Any projects that I used Heartfelt Creation products in will be posted on 'My HC Projects' page.

Stay tuned. I am REALLY going to try and get better at updating my website. I've have it for quite awhile now, you would think that I would be by now. One of my many things to improve on.

Stay tuned, more projects to come soon.

February 28, 2014

Here are a few of the projects I made during the break between semesters:

Let me know what you think.'

My butterfly cuff. I got the butterfly clasp idea from a magazine I have. It was created by someone who works for Swarovski. I thought I had a better picture than this one, but I couldn't find it right now. I'll post it when I do.

I made this card a few years ago.

I used Stampin' Up! products to make this card

This one I'm giving to my sister-n-law.

I found the tutorial for this wallet YouTube video by DNcrafts. I can't tell you how many times I've watched it.

It is very helpful and the person doing the video explains easily and clearly.

I made this one for my mom for Christmas.

I watched a variety of videos to get the how to's on making this wallet. I combined a number of different techniques from YouTube videos to make this one. I don't remember all of the them, but the basic design and size is from the same video by DNcrafts. The weave one may be from her also. You should check them out.

I made this for my sister for Christmas. She will be using it as the guest book at her wedding this year.

Ok, this lovely book is from Marion Designs Printable Primrose Mini Album collection. I just love her! She loves roses and anything vintage...just like me.

She has all sorts of great papers available for download from her site. You should check out her tutorials also on YouTube. They're are so beautiful.

I made this for a co-worker before she went back to school. It was my first 3-D card.

This one is for my niece

This is, again, my own variation of a number of wallet ideas from YouTube that I combined all together to make this wallet. I really like the weave effect. It looks sooooo cooooool!

I made this for my brother and sister-n-law

This is another Marian Smith design printable from her website. She also has a great tutorial on how to assemble the binder as you make it from scratch. So you can literally make it any size you want.

I used chipboard, a Tim Holtz ring binder set, rubons, white ink pad, a few stickers and some paper and felt like flowers. I also used one brad.

This is how I designed the side. I had these really cute stickers. After placing them on the spine, I covered them generously with matte medium to seal them.

I have another one almost done that I made for my daily journal printable project. Once I get the inside coated and the closure attached, I will post it on here as well. I used printable paper by Marion but used some rose material I had in my stash to make the outside of it.

I made this wallet for my cousin for Christmas. I love making these. They are so fun.

I made this one from the weave tutorial by DNcrafts. I really love the weave look. My cousin really liked her wallet as well.

I made this for my music appreciation teacher last semester. I really enjoyed that class. I listened to music I hadn't listened to in years. I was inspired and got my music books out and played the piano a bit. I couldn't play it too much, because I realized that it needed to be tuned.

I purchased this beaded piano pattern from JaValle beads. I beaded about a third of the pattern. I added the flowers and the pearls because the black wound up being a little wider than I would have liked so the next one I make I will cut back on the black section. It was also a pattern for a loom, but I did not use a loom. I came up with my own way to do it because my loom had a project on it that is a work in progress. Like a lot of other things in my crafty room. :)

April 9, 2013

I have placed two items available for purchase on my products page. I will have some more items available by Monday, April 15, 2013. Mother's day is just around the corner.

Thank you for visiting and Happy Crafting!

Here are a few things I've throughout the past few months. Hope you like them.

I made this bracelet in a class at Bella Bead in April 2012.

I gave it to a co-worker who really liked it. I told her that I would give it to her under one condition, that I get to take a picture of her wearing it. She wears it all the time.

I didn't make this in the last few months, I actually made this quite a number of years ago and gave it to my sister. She uses it to attach her earrings to so they don't get lost. I took this picture about 5 years ago now. It's nice to know she still uses it. Yes, even today...

This is just one of many cards I've made throughout this past year. I sometimes forget to take pictures of them. I really enjoy making cards too. Sometimes I spend all day surrounded by my all my supplies just making card after card after card. You never know when you might need one quickly. It's nice to have them handy. :)

Origami, another interesting hobby. It's pretty cool how just folding paper a certain way you can get all sorts of cool looking items. I made this through a kit. I am, however, finding it difficult to find the double sided black for the hair outside of kits. I'll just have to keep looking. I have this project in my Starbucks cup made for cold drinks. I get compliments on it all the time.

Here is another style from the same kit. I really like doing this. Some of them really take practice and have quite a lot of folds. When I get them to turn out better I'll post them on here for you to see.

I finished this kit a few months ago. Not sure what to do with it now. It would make a cute pillow, but needs to be bigger. Any suggestions what to frame it with? solid or use black and then a floral print and solid ruffle? Let me hear your ideas. I will post a picture of it when it's completed.

I made this necklace to practice my pearl knotting with my new pearl knotting tool before using it to repair a necklace for a friend of mine. I think it turned out pretty good. I found the focal piece in the discount bin at a Walmart.

I copied this style from a necklace I repaired. It's not exactly the same as I used different size pearls. But I used the same blue and white pearl count and gold spacers and made my own bracelet and earrings to go with it. I found the blue pearls at Bella Beads in Fresno and fell in love with the color, so bold and so beautiful. I used my pearl knotting tool on this necklace as well.

This is a small quilt that I made for a baby shower. It was really quite easy the way it was made. Sewn wrong sides together, pulled right side out, sewn around the edges to close and then tie quilted with multicolored embroidery floss.

Ok, I've given you quite a bit to look at. Hope it's not too much. But as you can see, I really like to do a variety of things. I will post more as I finish new things.

Coming Soon...

I will be posting a PowerPoint presentation on how to make a wire beaded bracelet. I am looking forward to sharing with you. I am just putting the finishing touches and will post it within the next few days.

Thank you for visiting and Happy Crafting!

Hello Everyone, I didn't realize that it has been so long since my last update. I get so busy working full-time and going to school full-time, I sometimes don't have time for much else. when school starts, my boyfriend always jokes and tells me he'll see me in 3 months. It sometimes feels like that. :)

I hope you all have been able to keep crafting. I wasn't really able to do much crafting during my winter break, but that is the way it goes sometimes. I have been able to finish a few things and will hopefully get those pictures up this weekend.

At the end of last semester I earned my Certificate of Achievement in Accounting. I received my certificate in the mail this week. It feels great! No Accounting classes this semester. I am taking two advanced computer application courses, and English course, a Flash course, and a Web design course. I am really looking forward to it. It's going to busy one. But I'm sure it will go just as quickly as last semester did.

I'm still debating the posting of videos. Maybe after I finish my Flash computer class. We'll just have to see. :) Let me know what you think.

Well, I think that I am going to sign off for now.

Again, thank you for visiting and Happy Crafting!

I am in the middle of working on a project and will be able to post it very soon.

November 9, 2011

Hello Everyone and thank you for visiting.

I have been busy with school and work, it occurred to me that I haven't checked my site in a while.

I trust all of you are well.

I haven't completed any projects lately, but plan on it soon. The holidays are coming and I hope to have a little bit of free time to do a couple of projects. I have managed to attend a couple of beading classes within the last few months, but not as nearly as many as I would have liked. I love learning new techniques and then putting my own touches to them.

I would like to thank all those Veterans out there who have served our country to ensure our freedom.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello Everyone,

This is the last week of summer school. Time sure went by fast... the Fall semester starts on August 15th.

Keeping busy with the organizing, school and work. I hope that you are able to view the other pages to my website okay. My sister said that they didn't work for her. If the link allows, please let me know if the page links are working for you or not.

Take care and come back soon.

July 10, 2011

Hello Everyone, I have been busy with summer school and work. I hope you all are doing well.

I have been working on a few things. One of them I have already given away, so once I finish another pair (they were earrings) I will post a picture on here for you to see. I am also working on a peacock necklace. Once completed, I will post a picture of that one also.

My main goal here lately has been to try and organize my craft room. I find it difficult at times because you eventually run out of places to put everything. I have found a product that I intend to purchase once I get the money saved. It will totally be worth it. it is called "The Workbox". I have placed a link to it at the bottom of this section in case you want to check it out.

As I'm sure you noticed, I have added a few pages to my website. Let me know what you think. I will be offering items for sale, talking about my experiences with various craft products, etc. I also would like to hear from you all. Let me know what's on your mind.

It has been hot here in Central California with 3 digit weather. But that's normal for this time of year. Thank goodness for central heating and air conditioning.

Ya all take care and talk with you again soon.

6/2/11 - Hello Everyone,

sorry, it's been a while. Work and school tend to take up quite a bit of my time. I haven't been able to do as much crafty projects as I would like, but do fit them in now and then.

I have have finished a few projects. One for my sister and one for my cousin. Here they are:

This is what I made for my sister as a late birthday present.

I made this for my cousin just because. I found that cute little panda and I knew how much she loves them. I couldn't resist, I had to make her something.

Summer school starts in a week. Yay...I am looking forward to it. I need to get more beading done before it does.

Thank you for visiting.

Marylin

I created this website to reach out to other avid beaders and crafters. I love taking a design and embellishing on it to give it my own touch. I have been beading for about 15 years or so and just love it! I also do other crafts such as crochet, scrapbooking, sewing, quilting and have tried polymer clay.

If you are a returning reader, then you probably noticed that I changed the number of years I have been beading. Well, I got to thinking about it after I posted the last time and the 6 years only represents the time I have really gotten into beading since my divorce in 2004.

It got me to think about how long I have been doing other types of crafting and I realized that I have been doing it for a long time. I did my first needlepoint picture my freshman year of high school. (Don't ask how long ago that was...) That is also when I started counted cross stitching. My step grandma Hall taught me the basics of crochet, but it was my Aunt Rachel that taught me how to read patterns. Once I understood how to read a crochet pattern, the world of crochet opened even wider and I got even more excited about the art of crochet. I have a picture of a doily I made for my sister quite a few years back. I will post it as soon as I can find it. She still uses it today.

As I receive feedback I will post more things.

I made this Pegasus beaded bag and lined it

with velvety purple material with a pocket or

two. Yes, it took a while. :)

I entered this at our local fair and won first place and best of show. I really enjoyed finishing this piece. I purchased it unfinished from eBay. It turned out quite nice.

I made my first roses out of marzipan candy. It doesn't taste that bad. I covered my cake with white fondant and adorned it with white fondant marbled with red and cut into hearts. The cake itself is a red velvet cake with cherry and butter-cream filling.

I won second place at our local fair. I thought I did pretty good considering it was the first time I used marzipan and fondont on a cake.

Okay, this is not a crafty project. This is Bailey. One of my babies. :) when we brought her home in October 2010.

And

this is her and Alyce a few days ago. She is just the cutest thing and inquisitive.

3/3/11- Ok, another day has gone by and taking a break from homework. I would love to work on a crafty project right now, but have a deadline for one of my classes tomorrow at 8 pm. I know, I know. What am I doing this for? I needed a break from reading. :)

I hope you all are having a good day. I have one more day and I go on vacation for 3 weeks. Yay! I can hardly wait. I will miss work, but everyone needs a break now and then right? I will be visiting family.

3/21/11 - today was my brother's birthday. I was able to see him this past weekend. We had a nice visit. I was also able to see my nephew. He was home from school for spring break.

Have a good day and happy crafting!
